I place a high priority on the individual needs
and abilities of my students. One size does not fit all, at
least not when it comes to teaching piano. About Danie Ray:
Seven years experience as a piano teacher. Bachelor of Musical
Arts from the University of South Dakota, with a focus on
piano. College coursework in piano education. Member of the
MTNA & SDMTA. Recpient of the 2009 MTNA Student Achievement
Recognition Award. This award is given to one student per year
at participating universities. About the Studio: Students are
taught a variety of musical styles, ranging from classical to
modern. In addition to technique, students learn sight
reading, ear training, music theory and elementary
composition. My studio is based on the belief that my
students' individual needs are of the utmost importance. I am
committed to meeting those needs. As a member of the MTNA and
SDMTA, my students have an opportunity to participate in
competitions, festivals and recitals with other MTNA
recognized studios.
Grant Piano Studio, Asia
Brutian-Grant
I am a professional piano instructor with
30 years of teaching experience. The doors to my studio are
open to disciplined students who are eager to learn, want to
play the piano the correct way, and who strive to excel. I
introduce my students to a wide range of repertoire, from
Baroque to Jazz, and encourage them to choose pieces from
varying styles. The main focus of my teaching is to provide my
students with the foundation of theory and the art of
performance. My approach is individually tailored to the age,
level, and personality of each student. I have solutions for
technical problems through special exercises, targeting
specific problematic areas. My students learn interpretation
techniques appropriate for each style. I am dedicated and
knowledgeable, passionate and inspiring.
Joyful Song Studio
Piano Lessons at Joyful Song Studio (Molly
Leggett): Weekly 30-minute private lessons are offered for
students ages 6-18. "Vivace" Piano Preparatory Program is
offered for girls ages 7-11 (an exciting way for beginners to
explore the basics of piano in a small-group setting). At my
piano studio, my goal is to create a joyful, positive learning
environment - a place where students can have fun, be
challenged, and be inspired to love music! Repertoire,
technique, theory, ensemble, and performance are included. I
have a BA in Music, am a member of MTNA, and this is my 9th
year as a piano/voice instructor. To register for private
piano lessons or the "Vivace" piano program contact Molly
Leggett.
Piano Laboratory at First Lutheran
Church
The mission of the Piano Laboratory at
First Lutheran Church is to offer group piano lessons to
students who would not otherwise be able to afford private
piano instruction. Equipped with eight Roland keyboards with
touch sensitive weighted keys (simulating the action of the
modern grand piano), a teaching station, and a large
flat-screen television, this studio can accommodate up to
eight students at a time for group piano lessons. Recognizing
that there are a limited number of openings, and to be as fair
as possible, admittance into the Piano Laboratory will be by a
lottery drawing. To accomplish the goal of musical "in-reach"
and outreach, equal numbers of First Lutheran members and
non-members will be selected. There is no cost for the
program.
Schmitt Music
Schmitt Music has decades of experience
providing music lessons. We teach private one-on-one lessons
for beginners through highly advanced, as well as group or
class lessons for all ages and abilities. Lessons are usually
30 minutes in length (most teachers will accommodate longer)
and vary in price from teacher to teacher, and from store to
store. Our teachers are highly qualified and have all the
skills necessary to make your lesson experience satisfying and
rewarding. Schmitt Music stores offer a controlled, safe
environment. Taking lessons at Schmitt Music is convenient -
we're open seven days a week! Our piano, drum, and guitar
studios are equipped with well-maintained, quality
instruments. Our staff is eager to help with all of your
musical needs, from books and accessories to finding the right
instrument.
